Prostate Cancer Awareness at Work Workshop: What you need to know:
What every man needs to know.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK — yet awareness remains worryingly low. Many men don’t know the symptoms to look for, or delay seeking help due to stigma, uncertainty, or lack of information.
This practical, reassuring and evidence-based session — delivered by a practising NHS GP — breaks down the facts simply and clearly. It empowers men to understand their risk, recognise symptoms early, and feel confident speaking to a doctor.
Ideal for Men’s Health Month (November) and valuable year-round, this talk is designed to save lives through awareness, early action and open conversation.
What this GP-Led Prostate Cancer Awareness Workshop covers:
- Understanding Prostate Cancer — what it is, how it develops, how common it is, and why early detection changes outcomes
- Symptoms and risk factors — what to look for, what’s normal vs concerning, and how age, ethnicity and family history increase risk
- Testing and Diagnosis (PSA and beyond) — what testing involves, when screening is advised, and how to have informed conversations with your GP
- Treatment and Prognosis — modern treatment options, recovery expectations, and why early diagnosis significantly improves outcomes
- Normalising men’s health conversations — why men delay seeking help, and how workplaces can encourage proactive health behaviour
NHS GP-led — delivered by a practising NHS GP, not a generalist trainer
with experience supporting clients on mindful drinking and alcohol awareness goals
Evidence-based, reassuring, practical — informs without alarming
A signature workshop for Men’s Health Month and Movember (November)
Designed to save lives through awareness, early action and open conversation

Workshop outcomes:
After the session, participants leave with:
- A clear understanding of prostate cancer — what it is, the risk factors, the warning signs
- Practical knowledge of PSA testing — when, why, and how to have the conversation with their GP
- The confidence to act early if symptoms or risk factors apply
- Permission to talk about men’s health at work — one of the most under-spoken topics in most organisations

Why this matters:
- 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
- Early-stage prostate cancer often has no symptoms at all
- Men are less likely than women to seek medical help
- Early testing dramatically improves survival and treatment outcomes
This session informs without alarming, equipping employees with knowledge, confidence, and practical next steps.

- Men’s Health Month (November) — peak booking moment
- Movember — the natural ally for any organisation participating
- You’re building men’s health programming — particularly relevant for male-dominated sectors
- You have an active Men’s Wellbeing ERG — this is the foundation workshop

- Particularly valuable for: Construction, trades and manufacturing where men’s health risk is most acute; financial services and law firms with male-dominated senior populations; healthcare and frontline organisations where prostate cancer touches the work; public sector building inclusive men’s health programming.

About your NHS GP facilitator
Delivered by a practising NHS GP with significant experience in men’s health and primary-care cancer education. The NHS GP credential is the key differentiator — this isn’t a generalist trainer running a sensitive topic from a deck. It’s clinical credibility from the practitioners men trust.
How this workshop pairs with others
Prostate Cancer Awareness sits inside our men’s wellbeing cluster and pairs naturally beyond cancer awareness:
- Pair with Men’s Wellbeing Nutrition: The men’s-specific nutrition pairing — nutrition is a significant factor in prostate cancer risk and outcomes.
- Pair with the Cancer Awareness for Employees Workshop: General cancer awareness plus the men’s-specific deep dive. Strong combination for organisations addressing cancer comprehensively.
- Pair with the Suicide Awareness Workshop: Both address topics where men struggle to seek help. Strong pairing for Men’s Health Month programming addressing the full picture.
- Pair with the Time to Talk Workshop: Builds the conversation skill men need to engage with the topic openly.
A frequently booked configuration for Men’s Health Month: Prostate Cancer + Suicide Awareness + Time to Talk as a complete men’s health programme.

Prostate Cancer Awareness FAQS:
Is this workshop only for men?
Primarily yes, though many organisations book it for mixed audiences — particularly when partners, family members and colleagues want to support the men in their lives. The content is delivered to be relevant for both men and those supporting them.
Will the GP be available for individual questions?
The session includes 10-15 minutes of live Q&A with the GP. For individual clinical questions, attendees are signposted to their own GP — but the live Q&A handles the broad questions most attendees have.

Will it be too distressing?
The workshop is specifically designed to inform without alarming. The GP delivers it with warmth and reassurance — attendees consistently come away empowered, not anxious.
Can the workshop be tailored to our sector?
Yes. Particularly relevant tailoring for construction, financial services, public sector, healthcare and frontline organisations with male-dominated populations.
What does it cost?
Tailored pricing based on duration, format and whether you’re booking standalone or as part of a programme. Multi-workshop bookings are priced more favourably. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a quote within 48 hours.
