Confidence, communication, mindset, goal setting and career development — workshops that build people, not just performance.

Practical workplace productivity workshops for teams who want to work better — not work more. We deliver on focus, boundaries, digital habits, email, AI, sleep and performance, imposter syndrome, and the everyday productivity skills modern hybrid teams actually need. Every workplace productivity workshop is led by accredited coaches and specialists with corporate experience, runs 60 to 90 minutes, ends with a one-page action plan, and can be tailored to your sector and the moment your team is in.
This is the category most often booked by L&D and Talent Development teams investing proactively Not in response to a crisis, but because they want their high-performers to stay high-performing without burning out, and their teams to spend their working hours on the work that actually matters.

Accredited specialists, not generalist trainers: Workshops are designed and delivered by accredited coaches and behavioural-science-trained facilitators with corporate experience.

Evidence-based, not motivational: Every session draws on behavioural science, performance psychology, and cognitive research. We don’t do “hustle harder” energy.

Practical, not theoretical: Every workshop ends with takeaways your team can use that week. Frameworks live or die by whether they survive a Monday morning.

Core Workplace Productivity & Personal Development workshops
Productivity Workshop
Practical frameworks for getting the right things done while protecting cognitive capacity. Covers prioritising, focus, energy management, and protecting time. Suits hybrid teams pulled in too many directions and looking for a sustainable working rhythm. 60 min.
Boundary setting in the workplace
How to say no, manage workload demands, and protect non-work time without damaging relationships or career progression. Particularly useful for high-performing teams returning from a high-pressure period or working to prevent burnout from coming back. 60 min.
Imposter syndrome workshop
For high-performers who quietly doubt themselves. Tools for recognising imposter thoughts, managing them, and getting on with the work. Often booked by women’s networks, ERGs, and graduate cohorts — but applicable far beyond. 60 min.

Confidence at Work Workshop
Behavioural science tools for the habits that quietly undermine confidence at work — over-explaining, holding back, defaulting to others. Not affirmations. Three practical techniques participants use the following week. 60 min. Popular for women’s networks and ERGs.
Happiness at Work workshop
Evidence-based session on what genuinely sustains workplace wellbeing — autonomy, purpose, mastery, relationships — and how to build more of each into the working week. A constructive counterweight to crisis-led wellbeing work; often booked by teams in good shape who want to stay that way. 60 min.
Digital Habits & Focus
Digital Wellbeing workshop
How to live and work alongside our devices without burning out. Covers screen time, attention, and the small habits that protect focus in a notification-heavy working environment. 60 min.
Smarter Email Habits
Practical tools for taming the inbox without missing what matters. Suits teams who feel email is running them, not the other way round. Includes a one-week email reset participants can run from Monday. 60 min.
AI and wellbeing
A grounded session on what AI is changing about work, what it isn’t, and how to use it without hollowing out the parts of your job you actually like. Useful as part of an AI rollout or for teams figuring out their own boundaries with the new tools. 60 min.
Sleep & Performance
Sleep workshop
Practical, evidence-based session on sleep hygiene, recovery, and the changes that genuinely help when sleep is broken. The whole-team foundational session before the deeper performance conversation.

Peak Performance at Work
A practical workplace session focused on stress, nervous system regulation and sustainable performance.
For graduates, interns and new starters

Wellbeing for Graduates & New Joiners
AUDIENCE: Graduate schemes · Internships · Early careers · Day-one induction
The day-one workshop most clients book for their graduate intake. Built specifically for that first-day-first-week-first-month feeling — the transition from student to professional, the stress container, the reframing, the resilience toolkit. Covers self-care, productivity, transitions, boundaries, plus the food/exercise/sleep foundations that prevent first-year burnout. Delivered personally by STC founder Sally Lovett — every participant leaves with a one-page action plan they can use that week.

Why Workplace Personal Development Workshops at Stretching the City are different
Productivity training has a reputation problem. Most of it is recycled “do hard things in the morning” energy from the 2010s, or motivational speakers selling effort over evidence. Three things make ours different:
Behavioural science, not life-coaching.
Every framework is grounded in published research on attention, energy, recovery, and habit formation. We name our sources. Frameworks that don’t survive an hour of pressure don’t make it into our workshops.
Designed for modern hybrid work.
Most productivity content was written for a working environment that no longer exists. Our sessions are built for the reality of distributed teams, asynchronous communication, persistent notifications, AI-augmented work, and the focus problems those create.

Sustainable performance, not hustle.
Our productivity work is paired with our boundaries, sleep, and recovery content because the evidence is unambiguous: you cannot sustainably produce quality work by squeezing more hours from people. The productivity workshop and the boundary-setting workshop solve the same problem from two angles, and most clients book them together.

How delivery works for personal growth workshops
A few specifics for this category:
- Group size: Productivity workshops work well at 30–50 attendees. Larger groups can split into break-outs; smaller groups (under 15) shift toward a more conversation-led, scenario-rich format.
- Manager add-ons: Most workshops can be paired with a 30-minute manager-only session covering how to support the team’s new working patterns and avoid the common manager-led pitfalls (e.g. emailing the team at 9pm and undermining the boundaries workshop).
Action plans: Every workshop ends with a one-page personal action plan participants leave with. We’re not running motivational sessions; we’re delivering takeaways that turn into changed behaviour.
Lead time: Standard two to three weeks from confirmed booking. Tailoring adds two to three days, not weeks.
What our clients say
Choose the right personal development workshop for your team
Most teams come to us with one of four prompts in mind. Pick the one that sounds most like your situation — we’ll point you to the right workshop.
1. We’re working harder, not smarter.
Workload up, output flat, hours creeping. You want practical frameworks for protecting focus and producing the work that actually matters.
Start with: Productivity workshop · Boundary setting in the workplace
2. Digital is running our team, not the other way round.
Inbox overload, notification fatigue, focus eroded by tools meant to help. You want your team back in control.
Start with: Digital wellbeing workshop · Smarter email habits · AI and wellbeing
3. Our high-performers are running on empty.
Top contributors quietly burning out. Sleep slipping, recovery time disappearing, the conversation about “sustainable performance” overdue.
Start with: Sleep School · Boundary setting in the workplace · Peak Performance at Work: Managing Stress, Energy and Focus
4. We want a happier, more focused team.
Not in crisis — just ready to invest in the conditions that genuinely sustain workplace wellbeing.
Start with: Happiness at work · Productivity workshop · Confidence at Work Workshop
Frequently asked questions
Are these workshops L&D-budget appropriate, or do they need to come from a wellbeing budget?
Both. Productivity and personal development sessions sit naturally in L&D / Talent Development budgets — they’re skill-building rather than crisis-response. Many of our clients run this category through L&D and the mental health workshops through wellbeing/HR. We can supply L&D-friendly outcome metrics (skill confidence pre/post, behaviour change at 90 days) for procurement.
Can workshops be tailored to our industry?
Sensitive workshops are co-led or delivered by BACP-registered therapists who hold the room safely. We brief facilitators on your EAP and signposting routes ahead of time. After the session, we follow up with the booker about anything that needs handling.
Can workshops be tailored to our industry or situation?
Yes. We adapt scenarios, language, and the action-plan template to your sector. We work regularly with finance, professional services, tech, healthcare, and the public sector. Tailoring usually adds two to three days to the delivery timeline.
How do you measure whether a productivity workshop has worked?
Every workshop comes with a post-session pulse survey covering attendee confidence, takeaway value, and intent to apply. For series and programme clients, we run pre- and post-pulse surveys plus a 90-day check-in measuring whether the behaviour change actually stuck.
Can we book multiple productivity workshops as a series?
Yes — and most clients booking more than two end up doing exactly that. Series bookings unlock a discount and let us thread a narrative across sessions. If you’re considering more than three productivity workshops in a year, ask us about the Performance & Productivity programme on the discovery call — same workshops, more structure, ongoing measurement.
What’s the difference between the Productivity workshop and the Smarter Email Habits workshop?
The Productivity workshop covers the broader skill set — prioritising, focus, energy, time protection. Smarter Email Habits is a tighter session focused on inbox management specifically. Most clients book the Productivity workshop as the foundational session and add Smarter Email Habits if email is the specific pain point.
Why are sleep workshops listed under Productivity?
Because we pitch them as performance levers, not relaxation. Sleep is the most under-utilised cognitive performance lever in modern workplaces. Teams in high-cognitive-load roles see meaningful productivity gains from sleep workshops in a way they don’t from generic “self-care” content.
Do you deliver internationally?
Virtual delivery is available globally — we’ve delivered productivity workshops to teams in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC. In-person delivery is UK-focused.
