From awareness to action — the shift that’s now obvious

Mental Health Awareness Week has played a huge role in changing how UK workplaces talk about mental health. For many organisations, though, the question now is: what actually changes?
Posters, lunch-and-learns and sympathetic emails create awareness. They rarely create lasting change. The teams that get real value from MHAW are the ones who use the week as a launchpad for practical action — workshops people can apply the next day, manager capability that compounds, leadership conversations that shift the culture underneath the campaign.
Our 2027 programme is built around that shift. Specifically, it’s designed to help organisations move from talking about mental health to actively investing in it across all three levels: individual, interpersonal and organisational.
Our signature Mental Health Awareness Week 2027 session: Move Your Mind
At the heart of our MHAW programme sits our flagship session, Move Your Mind, a practical, CBT-informed mental health workshop designed to help employees move from awareness into meaningful action at work.
Move Your Mind explores how mental health improves through action at three connected levels:
- Action for yourself: How we respond to thoughts, pressure and energy
- Action for others: How we support and influence each other at work
- Action for the workplace: How culture, workload and leadership shape wellbeing
The session creates a more complete and realistic understanding of mental health at work — beyond awareness alone. Move Your Mind can be delivered as a standalone MHAW workshop or as the anchor of a wider programme.
Alternative session: Mental Fitness Hour
For organisations looking for a slightly different angle, our Mental Fitness Hour remains our most-booked single workshop year-round.
The session focuses on building resilience, adaptability and everyday mental strength — helping employees understand how habits, attention and mindset influence performance and wellbeing. Where Move Your Mind focuses on taking action in the moment, Mental Fitness Hour takes a broader approach to building mental fitness over time.
Many organisations pair both sessions — Move Your Mind for one team or cohort, Mental Fitness Hour for another — to give different employee groups what resonates most.

Three pathways for Mental Health Awareness Week 2027 action
Our MHAW 2027 programme is designed around three core action pathways. Organisations can choose to focus on one, or combine them into a broader programme. All sessions can be delivered virtually or onsite at your office in the UK.
1. Personal Action
What individuals can do for their own mental health.
Practical sessions focused on how people respond to pressure, manage energy and build everyday resilience. This includes our flagship session, Move Your Mind, alongside sessions on habits, mental fitness, movement and recovery.
- Move Your Mind: From Awareness to Everyday Action
- The Mental Fitness Hour: Building a Stronger Mental Mindset
- Good Mood Food: Nutrition for Mental Health
- Moving More for Mental Health
- Sleep School: Our Corporate Sleep Workshop
These sessions help employees build personal wellbeing capability and everyday coping skills.
2. Interpersonal Action
How we interact, communicate and support each other at work. Sessions focused on relationships, boundaries and psychological safety, including:
- Setting Boundaries in the Workplace
- Loneliness, Connection & Belonging at Work
- Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace
- Psychological Safety
- From Conflict to Connection: Difficult Conversations & Situations
These sessions support healthier team dynamics and more sustainable ways of working together.
3. Organisational Action
What leaders and organisations actually change. Strategic sessions focused on culture, leadership and systems, including:
- Facilitated panels and fireside conversations
- Leadership training
- Manager mental health training
- Wellbeing strategy sessions
This pathway helps embed mental health into leadership behaviour, organisational culture and decision-making.
The most-booked HR investment around Mental Health Awareness Week is Mental Health Training for Managers — a 90-minute workshop equipping people leaders to spot concerns early, hold the conversation, and know when to escalate.

MHAW 2027 programme options: Three starting shapes
Every Mental Health Awareness Week 2027 programme we deliver is bespoke and designed around your people, culture and objectives. Most organisations choose one of the following starting points, which we then tailor to fit your context.

Starter
A focused introduction to mental health action, centred around our flagship Move Your Mind session. This option is ideal for organisations looking to mark Mental Health Awareness Week with a high-quality, practical session, with the option to include live Q&A and a recording for wider reach.

Team Action
Designed to build everyday wellbeing capability across teams, this option combines the flagship session with one or two supporting workshops and a manager-focused session. It works well for organisations looking to go beyond awareness and support more consistent behaviours and conversations across teams.

Culture & Leadership
A strategic organisational intervention that uses Mental Health Awareness Week as a catalyst for wider change. This typically includes an all-staff flagship session alongside a facilitated leadership panel, manager mental health training and one or two supporting workshops , with follow-on programme design to support longer-term impact.
Keynotes, panels and leadership conversations
As part of our MHAW27 programme, we offer professionally facilitated panels and fireside conversations, chaired by Stretching the City and featuring your own leaders and internal voices.
These are not expert talks or guest speaker panels. They are structured organisational conversations designed to:
- Create psychologically safe leadership dialogue
- Explore real organisational challenges
- Surface learning and insight
- Translate awareness into clear action and commitment
Panels can be delivered virtually or in person and tailored to your organisational context, culture and priorities.

What clients say about our MHAW programmes
Beyond Mental Health Awareness Week

Many organisations use Mental Health Awareness Week as a starting point for longer-term work around mental health strategy, leadership wellbeing, manager capability, psychological safety, sustainable performance, and culture and engagement.
Our programmes are designed to integrate seamlessly into wider wellbeing, leadership and people development strategies, so that Mental Health Awareness Week becomes a catalyst for lasting organisational change rather than a one-off moment.
Also Planning for European Mental Health Week 2027?
While many organisations focus on Mental Health Awareness Week in May, we also support teams across Europe in marking European Mental Health Week (typically held the week before MHAW).
For organisations with international teams, this offers an additional opportunity to engage employees across regions — particularly where UK-based campaigns don’t always resonate in the same way.
We work with a wide range of European and global organisations, delivering sessions across multiple time zones and locations. Many clients choose to run activity across both weeks, creating a more joined-up and inclusive approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2027 — the basics
When is Mental Health Awareness Week 2027?
Provisional dates are 10-16 May 2027. The Mental Health Foundation typically confirms exact dates and the annual theme in late autumn of the preceding year. This page updates as soon as MHF announces. Most UK organisations begin scoping their MHAW programme 4-6 months ahead, so the planning window opens in earnest from September 2026.
What’s the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2027?
The 2027 theme will be announced by the Mental Health Foundation later in 2026. We’ll update this page as soon as it’s confirmed. For reference, the 2026 theme was “Action” — focused on moving beyond awareness into the small, everyday behaviours that genuinely protect and improve mental health at work.
What’s the difference between Move Your Mind and Mental Fitness Hour?
Both are signature mental health workshops, but with different angles. Move Your Mind is CBT-informed and focused on taking action in the moment — how individuals respond to thoughts, pressure and energy. Mental Fitness Hour takes a broader approach to building mental fitness over time — habits, attention, mindset and resilience. Many organisations pair both across different teams or cohorts.
Booking, delivery and cost
How early should we book our MHAW 2027 workshop?
Six to eight weeks ahead is the minimum for headline May slots. Earlier for global teams or particularly popular dates within the week. Many of our larger clients scope their MHAW programme in Q1 of the same year, with workshop dates locked in by end of March. For 2027, the safest approach is to book your delivery date by end of February.
Can MHAW workshops be delivered virtually for global teams?
Yes. All MHAW workshops can be delivered live virtually across all time zones — particularly important for organisations with distributed or international teams. For global teams who can’t attend live, we offer Extended Access recordings (12-month or unlimited) so colleagues across time zones can access the content asynchronously. See our Virtual Wellbeing Workshops for Global Teams.
What does a Mental Health Awareness Week programme cost?
Pricing depends on the shape — a single Starter session typically runs from £1,500 to £3,000. The Team Action format (flagship session plus supporting workshops and manager training) sits between £4,000 and £8,000. The Culture & Leadership format (full programme including facilitated leadership panel or keynote) typically £8,000 to £15,000+. Multi-workshop programmes are priced more favourably than one-offs. Programmes, keynotes and beyond MHAW
Do you offer keynote speakers for Mental Health Awareness Week?
Yes — a keynote is often the anchor moment for organisations running a full-week programme with a big cultural signal. Sally Lovett delivers our signature MHAW keynote — “From Awareness to Action” — for organisations across financial services, professional services, tech and hospitality. Typically 30-45 minutes with structured Q&A, often paired with an all-staff Move Your Mind workshop later in the week and manager training as a parallel track. See our Wellbeing Events and Keynotes menu.
Can we use MHAW to launch a longer-term wellbeing programme?
This is the highest-impact use of Mental Health Awareness Week. Most of our larger clients treat MHAW as the visible launch moment for a year-round mental health investment. The Culture & Leadership programme is designed for exactly this — the week as a catalyst, with follow-on workshops, manager training and measurement across the following 6-12 months. See our Signature Wellbeing Programmes for the year-round shape.
Do you also support European Mental Health Week 2027?
Yes — we support organisations marking European Mental Health Week alongside or in place of UK MHAW. Particularly relevant for international teams where UK-specific campaigns don’t always resonate. Many clients with global teams run activity across both weeks for a more joined-up approach.
