.

Corporate Yoga (also known as office yoga) is the traditional mat-based yoga class. Our classes are delivered in your London office, UK workplace or to your global team virtually. Real yoga, real teachers, no compromise on the practice — just brought to you.

It’s the session teams book when they want yoga as an embedded part of working life: a weekly Tuesday lunchtime class, a Friday end-of-week wind down, or a series of classes built around your team’s stress patterns and posture needs.

We deliver office yoga classes in London and across the UK, and virtually to teams worldwide.

Why Corporate Yoga?

Led by hand-picked teachers and tailored for every body and ability, a Corporate Yoga class blends movement, breath and short mindfulness practices to:

  • Relieve tension in the neck, shoulders, back and hips
  • Improve posture and address desk-related stiffness
  • Boost energy and focus mid-day or end-of-week
  • Reduce stress and cortisol — measurable from a single session
  • Support mental wellbeing through the breath and the parasympathetic nervous system

Whether your team is fully office-based, hybrid or remote, Corporate Yoga is the most established and widely-loved way to bring real wellbeing into the working day.

The evidence

  • A single 60-minute yoga class has been shown to reduce cortisol by up to 27% (Source)
  • Regular yoga practice is associated with lower musculoskeletal pain, reduced workplace absenteeism, and improved sleep
  • 80% of office workers experience back or neck pain from prolonged sitting — yoga directly addresses this
  • Yoga has been shown to improve heart rate variability (HRV) — a key biomarker of stress resilience

Corporate Yoga, Office Yoga, Chair Yoga — what’s the difference?

The terms get used interchangeably but they’re different formats:

  • Corporate Yoga / Office Yoga is the traditional mat-based yoga class delivered in a workplace — all levels welcome, but participants do change into activewear and use a mat. This page.
  • Chair Yoga / Desk Yoga is the seated format — no mat, no activewear, can be done at the desk in work clothes. The most accessible workplace yoga format.
  • Office Pilates is a different practice entirely (lower-body strength, core, posture) — see Corporate Pilates.

Most clients book a combination: Chair Yoga as the low-barrier accessible option for everyone, plus Corporate Yoga as the deeper weekly practice for those who want it.

What to expect

Each Corporate Yoga class combines:

  • Gentle to moderate movement — postures pitched for mixed-ability groups
  • Breathwork — short pranayama practices that reduce stress in minutes
  • Mindfulness — brief seated or lying practices for the nervous system
  • Relaxation — a final savasana to reset the day

Classes are taught by a hand-picked, fully certified corporate yoga teacher — the same teacher each week wherever possible, so your team builds a relationship with the practice.

Our corporate yoga teachers

pippa_corporate_yoga

All of our Corporate Yoga classes are delivered by a hand-picked, fully certified yoga teacher with specific experience teaching workplace and corporate groups. Most of our teachers have taught for Stretching the City for years — they’re not gig-economy yoga teachers, they’re the experienced workplace yoga teachers other agencies wish they had.

We match the teacher to your team. London tech team that wants energising lunchtime classes? You get a teacher who specialises in that. End-of-week Friday wind-down for a finance team? Different teacher, different style.

Stretching the City was founded in 2009 by Sally Lovett — a qualified yoga teacher who’s spent 17 years building the UK’s most established corporate yoga roster.

What our Office Yoga clients say

I leave our yoga class feeling relaxed and ready to take on anything the working week has to offer me, as well as around 3 inches taller.

Our Stretching the City yoga class gives me time to get away from the desk & spend an hour focusing & listening to my body.. & what it needs. Just to have a class a 10m walk away from my desk is a huge lifesaver.

Sally’s ice-breaker stretch & de-stress session was brilliant. I have already had people coming back to me to say that they are interested in taking up Yoga! I will definitely be recommending it to other event organisers.

How Corporate Yoga pairs with other workshops

Corporate Yoga is most often booked as part of a wider wellbeing programme. Strongest pairings:

Pair with the Mindfulness Introduction: Yoga moves the body, mindfulness trains the mind — strong combination for wellbeing weeks.

Match with Chair Yoga: Chair Yoga as the everyone-can-do-it accessible format, Corporate Yoga as the deeper weekly practice.

Pair with Corporate Pilates: Two complementary practices — yoga for flexibility and stress, Pilates for core strength and posture. Many clients alternate weekly classes.

Book alongsiie a Breathwork Workshop: Standalone breathwork session for teams who want the breath science taught explicitly, alongside regular yoga.

Pair with the Wellbeing at Work Workshop: Sally’s signature workshop on the healthy working day, with Corporate Yoga as the embodied weekly practice.

Office Yoga FAQs

Is this corporate yoga or office yoga? What’s the difference?

They’re the same thing — the terms are used interchangeably. “Corporate yoga” is the formal product name; “office yoga” is the everyday term. Both refer to mat-based yoga classes delivered in a workplace context. If you want the seated format (no mat, no activewear, can be done at the desk), see our Chair Yoga / Desk Yoga page.

Do you deliver corporate yoga in London?

Yes — London is our most established city. We have a hand-picked roster of London-based corporate yoga teachers covering the City, Canary Wharf, Soho, Shoreditch, Kings Cross, Paddington and beyond. We also deliver across the UK and virtually to global teams.

Do you deliver outside London?

Yes. We deliver Corporate Yoga in-person across the UK — Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Cambridge, Brighton and more. For locations outside our core teacher network we can also deliver virtually with the same quality.

Do you have a corporate yoga teacher available for our team?

Yes — we hand-pick the right teacher for your team based on location, format, audience and the kind of practice you want (energising, restorative, alignment-focused). Once matched, you’ll have the same teacher each week wherever possible.

Do participants need yoga experience?

No. Classes are pitched for mixed-ability groups and the teacher offers modifications throughout. Beginners and experienced practitioners can practise together comfortably.

Logistics FAQS

What do participants need to bring?

A yoga mat and activewear. For in-person London bookings we can supply mats if needed. If your team doesn’t want to change clothes, book Chair Yoga instead — it’s designed to be done in work clothes.

Can we book yoga as a one-off, or only as a regular programme?

Both. One-off classes work well for wellbeing days, summer programmes and team away-days. Most established clients move to a weekly or fortnightly booking once they’ve seen the demand from the team. Multi-class bundles are priced more favourably than one-offs.

Can the class be tailored to our team?

Yes. We can focus on specific themes (back and shoulder tension, restorative end-of-week, energising mid-day, posture and alignment) and the teacher pitches the class for the audience in the room.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on whether you’re booking one-off, a block, or ongoing weekly classes, plus location. Multi-class bundles and weekly programmes are priced more favourably than one-offs. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a clear quote within 48 hours.

Our clients also book:

Corporate Pilates

AUDIENCE: Core strength · Posture · Back pain · Strength-based complement

Where yoga focuses on flexibility, breath and stress, Pilates focuses on core strength, posture and controlled movement — particularly powerful for back pain and desk-related stiffness. Many clients alternate weekly Corporate Yoga and Corporate Pilates as a year-round wellbeing programme.

breathwork_workshop

Breathwork Workshop

AUDIENCE: Nervous system regulation · No equipment needed · Hybrid teams

Yoga teaches breath through movement; the Breathwork Workshop teaches the breath science explicitly. Strong standalone session for teams who want the nervous system training without the full yoga practice — and a natural complement to regular yoga classes.

corporate_desk_yoga_class_stc

Chair Yoga / Desk Yoga

AUDIENCE: Most accessible format · No mat or activewear · Whole-team inclusive

The seated version of yoga — designed to be done at the desk in normal work clothes, no mat or activewear needed. Most clients book both: Chair Yoga as the everyone-can-do-it accessible option for whole-team wellbeing moments, plus Corporate Yoga as the deeper weekly practice for those who want it.
