Peak Performance Workshop: What you need to know:
A practical workplace session focused on stress, nervous system regulation and sustainable performance.
Peak performance is often misunderstood. In many organisations, it’s associated with pressure and pushing harder. But performance isn’t just about effort — it’s about how effectively individuals manage their energy, focus and response to stress.
At its core, performance is deeply linked to how the nervous system responds to demand.
This session explores how individuals and teams can better understand and regulate that response — supporting clearer thinking, better decision-making and more sustainable performance at work. It sits inside our Recovery & Performance Programme, designed for organisations who want their people to perform consistently rather than burn through them.
60 minutes. Led by an Emotional Resilience and Embodied Leadership Coach. In-person UK or virtual worldwide.
What this Sustainable Performance at Work session Covers:
This practical session introduces the key principles behind sustainable performance and how they apply in everyday working life. Participants will explore:
- The relationship between stress and performance — including the pressure-performance curve (Yerkes–Dodson)
- How the nervous system responds to pressure, deadlines and workload
- Early signs of overload, fatigue and burnout
- Practical techniques to regulate stress and reset focus in real time
- How to build more consistent energy, resilience and recovery
The focus is on simple, applicable tools that can be used immediately — not theory alone.
Led by an Emotional Resilience and Embodied Leadership Coach ✓ Performance as a nervous system response, not a mindset effort.
Practical, evidence-based — for sustainable performance at every level

What clients say
Performance, Pressure and the Nervous System

In many workplaces, performance is still associated with pushing harder — working longer hours and operating under constant pressure. In the short term, this can be effective. Over time, it leads to diminishing returns.
Research (Yerkes-Dodson, plus more recent CIPD and WHO workplace findings) shows that while moderate pressure supports focus, sustained stress reduces concentration, impairs decision-making and increases errors.
At a physiological level, this is driven by the nervous system. When individuals are regulated, they’re more likely to think clearly and respond effectively. Under prolonged stress, performance becomes reactive and harder to sustain.
This is why performance is not simply a mindset issue — it’s a biological response to demand. Understanding this helps individuals move beyond “just coping” and develop practical strategies to regulate stress, manage energy and perform more consistently.

Peak Performance at Work: FAQs
Who counts as a “carer”?
Anyone with unpaid caring responsibilities for a family member, partner or friend who needs support due to illness, disability, age or addiction. This includes elderly parent care, child-with-disability care, partner care, end-of-life support, and the “sandwich generation” caring in multiple directions.
Is this workshop only for people currently caring?
The workshop is most relevant for active carers, but it’s increasingly booked for mixed audiences as inclusive education — managers and colleagues benefit from understanding the carer experience, and many people will become carers at some point in their working lives.
Will participants need to share personal experiences?
No. The workshop is designed to land without forced sharing. Reflection is private, and the content normalises the carer experience without putting anyone on the spot.
Is it suitable for senior leadership?
Yes — and we specifically recommend it. Caring responsibilities increasingly affect senior leaders, and they’re often the audience most reluctant to acknowledge it. The workshop creates safe space for the topic at every level.
Can the workshop be tailored?
Yes. We adapt for audience (carers-only, mixed inclusive, leadership cohort) and specific themes (elderly care, dependent disability, sandwich generation, end-of-life caring).
Can we tie this to Carer’s Week?
Yes — Carer’s Week (8-14 June 2026) is our peak booking moment. Book early.
Do you deliver to international teams?
Yes. Virtual delivery works across North America, Europe, the Middle East and APAC. Some legal context (Carer’s Leave Act) is UK-specific, but the underlying carer experience is universal.
What does it cost?
Tailored pricing based on duration, format and whether you’re booking standalone or as part of a programme. Multi-workshop bookings are priced more favourably. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a quote within 48 hours.
