Psychological Safety at Work: Building Trust, Openness, and High-Performing Teams
Before individuals can speak up, challenge ideas or bring their full selves to work, they need to feel safe to do so. Psychological safety is the invisible foundation that enables teams to innovate, collaborate and thrive, yet it is too often overlooked.
In this 60‑minute interactive workshop your teams will unpack what psychological safety is (and what it isn’t), explore how it links to inclusion, performance and wellbeing and gain practical tools they can apply right away to build a more open, trusting and high‑performing culture
Workshop Content:
- What psychological safety is (and isn’t)
- Why it matters for inclusion, wellbeing, and high performance
- What helps and hinders it in teams and organisations
- How to start building safer, more trusting environments — wherever you sit in the business
Participants will leave with practical tools, reflective exercises, and everyday language strategies they can immediately apply to foster greater openness, respect, and collaboration in their teams.
This session also serves as a strong foundation for deeper behavioural and culture-based training, including Active Bystander Skills (ABS) and Anti-Sexual Harassment (ASH) workshops.

Why should businesses prioritise Psychology Safety at Work?
- Psychological safety is the #1 predictor of high-performing teams, according to Google’s famous Project Aristotle study.
- Teams with high psychological safety are 27% more likely to report excellent performance and 76% more likely to engage compared to low-safety teams (Gallup, 2023).
- Employees in psychologically safe environments are more likely to stay with their employer, reducing turnover and boosting retention.
- A lack of psychological safety contributes significantly to burnout, stress-related absenteeism, and lower productivity across organisations.
- Psychological safety benefits everyone — it improves inclusion, innovation, mental health, and team collaboration.
