Mental Fitness Hour

You are here: Home / Workplace Wellbeing Workshops – Full Menu / Mental Health at Work – Workshops, Manager Training & Resilience for UK Teams / Mental Fitness Hour

A Whole-Team Workplace Mental Health Workshop.

mental fitness hour

Mental Fitness Workshop: What you need to know:

  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Format: Live in-person UK or virtually worldwide
  • Capacity: Up to 100 in-person or unlimited virtual
  • Audience: All employee levels — proactive, not crisis-driven
  • Take-aways: Mental fitness toolkit + everyday habits, slide deck, and recording (if virtual)
  • Lead time: 2–3 weeks

Also known as our signature Mental health awareness workshop.

Most workplace mental health workshops focus on what’s already broken. The Mental Fitness Hour focuses on what can be built.

This 60-minute interactive workshop is designed for employees at all levels. Rather than centring on mental health challenges, this session empowers participants to train the mind like a muscle — strengthening resilience, adaptability and wellbeing before pressure arrives, not after.

With 1 in 6 UK workers experiencing a mental health problem each week, and poor mental health costing UK employers over £50 billion annually, proactive support has never been more important. This workshop gets your organisation ahead of the curve by equipping employees with the tools they need to thrive — not just cope.

Led by an experienced coach and workplace mental health trainer. In-person across the UK or virtual for global teams.

What to expect in the Mental Fitness Hour:

Through engaging activities and tried and tested techniques, Through engaging activities and tried-and-tested techniques, participants will:

  • Understand the difference between mental health, mental illness, and mental wealth — and why distinguishing these three matters for everyday work
  • Spot early signs of both positive and sub-optimal wellbeing — in themselves and in colleagues
  • Apply mindset management tools to reduce stress and reframe unhelpful thoughts
  • Build simple, daily resilience habits that fit around real work, not in spite of it
  • Gain confidence in starting supportive, stigma-free conversations with colleagues

This session goes beyond raising awareness. It helps create an organisational culture where employees feel safe, valued, and empowered to support their own — and each other’s — mental wellbeing.

For leadership teams, we also offer Mental Health for Managers, a companion programme focused on equipping managers with the confidence and skills to lead mentally healthy teams.

Workshop outcomes

After the session, participants typically leave with:

  • A working vocabulary for talking about mental wellbeing without stigma
  • Three to five everyday habits that build mental fitness over time
  • Greater confidence noticing the warning signs in themselves and colleagues
  • A reframed view of mental health — as something to actively maintain, not just protect

When this workshop is the right fit:

  • Mental Health Awareness Week (May). This is one of our most-booked MHAW workshops — a centrepiece session that opens the conversation without being heavy.
  • World Mental Health Day on 10 October – a global campaign to raise awareness of mental health.
  • You’re building a proactive wellbeing culture. You want to move beyond reactive responses and crisis support, and start equipping the team to look after their own mental fitness.
  • You’re starting a wellbeing programme. This works brilliantly as the first session — it sets a positive, capability-building tone before more specific workshops (stress, sleep, burnout) go deeper.
  • You want a session that lands across the whole workforce. It’s accessible, not heavy, and works across all levels and seniorities.

I had a few people reach out afterwards to say it was the best Mental Health workshop they’d attended!

How this workshop pairs with others

The Mental Fitness Hour is built to be the doorway workshop — the one that opens the conversation and makes everything else easier to book:

  • Pair with Resilience at Work to go deeper on adaptive performance under pressure.
  • Pair with Stress Management Workshop for in-the-moment tools after the awareness piece.
  • Pair with The Happiness Workshop for the full proactive mental wellbeing arc — building positivity and resilience together.
  • Add the Employee Burnout Workshop later in the programme if you’re seeing burnout signals in the team.

A classic Mental Health Awareness Week programme: Mental Fitness Hour (opens the week) → Stress Management or Burnout (mid-week deep dive) → Happiness Workshop (closes the week on a positive note). Tell us your context on the discovery call and we’ll suggest a sequence.

Mental Fitness Hour FAQS

How is this different from a mental health awareness session?

The Mental Fitness Hour goes beyond awareness. It’s structured around what people can do — building everyday mental fitness habits, not just learning to recognise when something’s wrong.

Is this suitable for senior leadership?

Yes. The content scales naturally for senior audiences — and many leadership teams book it as their own development before rolling out across the wider workforce.

Can you tailor this for Mental Health Awareness Week?

Yes — it’s our most-booked MHAW workshop. We can also tie it into a multi-workshop MHAW programme covering different angles of mental wellbeing across the week.

Is the content appropriate for teams that include people with mental health conditions?

Yes — the workshop is designed to be accessible and stigma-free. It avoids “performative” content and treats mental health as a continuum everyone moves along.

Can we book this for international teams?

Yes. Virtual delivery works across North America, Europe, the Middle East and APAC. Recording included.

Can the workshop be tailored to our industry?

Yes. Sector tailoring usually adds 2–3 days to lead time.

What does it cost?

Tailored pricing based on duration, format and whether it’s booked standalone or as part of a programme. Multi-workshop bookings are priced more favourably. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a quote within 48 hours.
