Imposter Syndrome Workshop: What you need to know:
Turning Hidden Self-Doubt Into Confidence, Clarity and Performance
Feel like you don’t belong, even when you’ve earned your place? You’re not alone. Studies show 50% of professionalswill experience imposter feelings at work. And these thoughts don’t just affect individuals — they slow teams, reduce innovation and increase turnover.
Our Imposter Syndrome Workshop offers leaders and teams evidence-based tools to recognise, challenge and transform self-doubt into forward momentum. Rather than offering platitudes (“fake it ’til you make it”), this session uses the behavioural and cognitive science of self-doubt — what fuels it, what reinforces it, what actually shifts it — to give participants practical reframing tools they can apply the same week.
60 minutes. Led by an executive coach with 20+ years corporate experience and a passion for alleviating imposter syndrome. In-person UK or virtual worldwide. Also available as an on-demand recorded session for global rollout.

Workshop outcomes:
After the session, participants leave with:
- A clear understanding of imposter syndrome’s mechanics — what causes it, what reinforces it, what shifts it
- Awareness of their personal imposter mindset type (Perfectionist, Soloist, etc.) and how it shows up
- Practical reframing techniques they can use in real-time when imposter feelings arise
- Specific behavioural shifts that build confidence over time
- Reduced shame around the topic — the workshop normalises imposter feelings as common, addressable, and not a personal failing

Why imposter syndrome matters at work
- Persistent self-doubt undermines confidence, productivity and engagement. Even high performers spend cognitive energy on “am I good enough?” that could go toward the actual work.
- High-achievers play it safe. Managers consistently report that imposter-prone high performers avoid risks, delay decisions, and don’t put themselves forward — costing organisations time, agility and pipeline.
- It’s amplified in diverse and hybrid workplaces. Imposter feelings are stronger in younger professionals, people stepping into new roles, and under-represented groups. Addressing it is part of inclusive leadership.
When this workshop is the right fit:
- You’ve just promoted people. Imposter syndrome peaks when someone is stepping up. Equip them at the moment of transition, not three months in.
- You’re investing in leadership development. Imposter syndrome is one of the most-cited blockers to senior performance — and one of the most addressable.
- You’re running International Women’s Day, Black History Month or similar programming. Imposter syndrome disproportionately affects under-represented groups and is a high-impact session for those moments.
- Your high performers are burning out or playing safe. Imposter syndrome often hides behind perfectionism, overwork, and risk avoidance.
- You want a workshop with low awkwardness. This session normalises the topic immediately — there’s no pressure to share, and the content lands without making anyone feel exposed.
Particularly valuable for: leadership development cohorts; new manager programmes; women’s networks; ERG events; sales and revenue teams under performance pressure; consultancies and professional services with up-or-out cultures.

What our clients say:
How this workshop pairs with others
Imposter syndrome sits inside a broader confidence and women’s wellbeing picture. The workshop pairs naturally with:
- Pair with Women’s Mental Health at Work — the natural broader pairing for women’s audiences. Where Imposter Syndrome focuses on the specific cognitive pattern, Women’s Mental Health at Work provides the wider context — the unique mental health challenges women navigate at work, plus the support structures. Often booked as a pair for IWD or women’s network programmes.
- Pair with Resilience at Work — resilience and confidence work hand in hand. Imposter syndrome erodes both; resilience training builds the underlying capability. Strong pairing for leadership development programmes.
- Pair with the Wellbeing for Graduates Workshop for graduate trainee schemes and new starter inductions and intakes.
- Also pair with the Happiness Workshop — positive psychology and imposter syndrome research overlap significantly. Helps teams move from “am I enough?” to “what am I building?”
- Or with the Mental Fitness Hour to broaden into the wider proactive mental wellbeing picture.

Imposter Syndrome at Work: FAQs
Will participants have to share personal experiences?
No. The workshop is designed to land without forced sharing. Reflection is private, polls are anonymous, and the content normalises imposter feelings without putting anyone on the spot.
Is this for women only?
No. Imposter syndrome is broadly experienced — research shows over 50% of professionals will experience it, across all demographics. The workshop is genuinely inclusive and works for mixed audiences. That said, it’s frequently booked for women’s networks and IWD programming because the experience is particularly acute for women in male-dominated sectors.
Is it suitable for senior leadership?
Yes — and we specifically recommend it. Senior leaders are often the most imposter-prone audience in the organisation (the “if they only knew” feeling at the top is real and well-documented). We adjust content for seniority.
Can the workshop be tailored?
Yes. We adapt for audience (women’s network, new managers, senior leaders, ERG), sector context, and any specific situations (recent promotions, organisational change, leadership development cohort).
Is the on-demand version as good as live?
The on-demand version is excellent for scale, time-zone flexibility and self-paced learning. The live version is stronger for the group-reflection element. We recommend live for cohort programmes, on-demand for whole-workforce rollout.
Do you deliver to international teams?
Yes. Virtual delivery works across North America, Europe, the Middle East and APAC. On-demand version available for full global rollout.
What does it cost?
Tailored pricing based on format (live vs on-demand), duration, audience size and whether you’re booking standalone or as part of a programme. Multi-workshop bookings are priced more favourably. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a quote within 48 hours.
