Men’s Mid-Life Health Workshop: What you need to know:

  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • Capacity: Up to 100 in-person or unlimited virtual
  • Take-aways: Recording (virtual), slides,
  • Lead time: 2–3 weeks

Andropause, Heart Health and the Male Mid-Career Check List.

Most progressive employers now have parallel menopause support for their female employees. Very few have anything equivalent for the men. Yet men’s midlife is one of the highest-risk periods of their entire working life — for mental health, cardiovascular health, hormonal change, and the silent depletion that often manifests as “midlife crisis.”

This 60-minute Men’s Midlife Health workshop is the structural parallel to Managing Menopause at Work — addressing andropause, heart health, prostate awareness, and the practical male health check-list every man in his 40s, 50s and 60s should know.

Led by a qualified nutritionist and men’s health specialist with 15 years of corporate workshop experience. In-person UK or virtual worldwide.

What this Men’s Midlife Health Workshop covers:

This 60-minute session delves into all aspects of the andropause and men’s midlife health. The workshop will cover:

  • How stress impacts testosterone — and the working-life patterns that compound it
  • Supporting prostate and mental health — what every man should know, and what every workplace should support
  • Improving heart health — the lifestyle and nutritional levers with the strongest evidence
  • The male health check-list — what to screen for, when, and how to have the conversation with your GP

Workshop outcomes:

After the session, participants leave with:

  • A clear understanding of andropause — symptoms, timeline, and what actually helps
  • Specific knowledge of the male health check-list for their age group
  • A reframed view of midlife as a health investment moment, not a slow decline to ignore
  • Practical confidence to have the conversations they’ve been avoiding — with their GP, their partner, and at work

Why workplaces need to look after their older male workforce:

The data shows three converging pressures making this a strategic workforce issue:

recorded wellbeing training

Your workforce is ageing — and predominantly older male in many sectors:

  • The number of over-50s in work has increased by 36% in the last 20 years (Legal & General)
  • The proportion of over-50s in the UK workforce is forecast to hit 47% by 2030 — a record high
  • In professional services, financial services, construction, manufacturing and senior management, the over-50 workforce is disproportionately male
  • The “experienced workforce” you’re trying to retain is overwhelmingly men in midlife — and they’re under-supported

Men’s midlife is genuinely physiologically and mentally high-risk:

  • Andropause — testosterone secretion gradually slows from the 40s, with up to 25% reduction between ages 30 and 80 (British Society for Sexual Medicine). Symptoms: Irritability, insomnia, weight gain, low mood, energy and concentration loss.
  • Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK. Men aged 45-49 have the highest suicide rate of any demographic (Samaritans, ONS).
  • 75% of UK suicides are men (Samaritans)
  • Two-thirds of heart disease patients are male, with cardiovascular disease the leading cause of death in men globally
  • 1 in 8 UK men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer (Cancer Research UK) — most diagnoses occur 50+
  • Mid-life depression peaks around age 45-50 in men — often presenting as irritability, withdrawal or substance use rather than classic depression symptoms

The retention case is compelling

You’ve invested 20-30 years in the senior men in your business. They carry institutional knowledge, client relationships, and developmental responsibility for younger employees. Losing them prematurely to preventable health issues, early retirement, or mental health crisis is one of the biggest hidden costs in mid-career talent retention — and unlike for women navigating menopause, most workplaces still have no structured support in place.

When this workshop is the right fit:

  • Men’s Health Month (November) — peak booking moment
  • International Men’s Day (19 November 2026)
  • Father’s Day (June) — increasingly used as a moment to acknowledge men’s wellbeing
  • You’ve stepped up menopause support and realised the men’s equivalent is missing — the parallel is genuinely structural
  • Mid-career male retention is a strategic concern — particularly in male-dominated senior leadership populations
  • You have a Men’s Health ERG or wellbeing programme building out — this is the foundation workshop
  • Particularly valuable for: Financial services and professional services with male-dominated senior leadership; construction, manufacturing and trades with ageing male workforces; tech and consulting with mid-career male retention concerns; public sector and healthcare with significant 50+ male populations.

About your facilitator

Led by a Harley Street BANT nutritionist with 15 years of corporate workshop delivery. Uniquely qualified to deliver both the women’s menopause content and the men’s andropause/midlife content — making this the natural pair when you’re building parallel programming for women and men.

The facilitator brings the clinical credibility for the topic and the workplace experience to make it land — no awkward delivery, no “men’s wellbeing” cliché, no jargon.

How this workshop pairs with others

Prostate Cancer Awareness sits inside our men’s wellbeing cMen’s Midlife Health sits at the centre of the men’s wellbeing cluster — and pairs naturally beyond:

  • Pair with Men’s Wellbeing Nutrition: Nutrition is one of the strongest levers for andropause symptoms, heart health and prostate health. The natural nutrition pair.
  • Pair with the Prostate Cancer Awareness Workshop: NHS GP-led prostate-specific deep dive that complements the broader midlife picture. Strong combination for Men’s Health Month.
  • Pair with Men’s Mental Health: We Need to Talk About Men: Midlife is the highest-risk window for men’s mental health. Strong pairing for the conversation-and-support side.
  • Pair with Managing Menopause at Work: For organisations building genuinely parallel midlife support across both genders. Same facilitator, same workplace logic, different physiology.
  • Pair with the Suicide Awareness Workshop: Men 45-49 have the highest suicide rate of any UK demographic. The pairing addresses both the underlying midlife pressure and the acute response.
  • Pair with Wellbeing for Carers: Mid-life men are increasingly the “sandwich generation” — supporting ageing parents alongside teenage or young-adult children.

A frequently booked configuration for Men’s Health Month: Men’s Midlife Health + Prostate Cancer Awareness + Men’s Mental Health as a complete men’s health programme.

The Men’s Mid-Life Health talk was just excellent, so informative and the trainer has a great presentation style. Would highly recommend this talk and the trainer to others.

Men’s Mid-Life Health Workshop FAQS:

Is “andropause” actually a thing?

Yes — though it’s more gradual and less universal than female menopause. Andropause refers to the gradual decline in testosterone and related hormonal changes in men from their 40s onwards. It affects most men to some degree, with symptoms including fatigue, irritability, low mood, weight gain and reduced concentration. It’s recognised by the British Society for Sexual Medicine and increasingly addressed in occupational health contexts.

Is this workshop only for men in their 40s and 50s?

Primarily yes — the content is most relevant to men in their late 30s through 60s. But it’s increasingly booked for mixed audiences as inclusive education for managers, partners, women’s networks and HR teams who want to understand what their male colleagues, husbands and direct reports are navigating.

How is this different from your Prostate Cancer Awareness workshop?

Prostate Cancer Awareness is an NHS GP-led deep dive on one specific cancer — symptoms, PSA testing, treatment, prognosis. Men’s Midlife Health covers the broader midlife picture — andropause, heart health, mental health, and prostate as one component. The two pair naturally; many clients book both for Men’s Health Month.

Is the workshop appropriate for men’s wellbeing ERG events?

Yes — this is one of the most-booked workshops for Men’s Health ERGs and Men’s Wellbeing networks. We can tailor specifically for ERG audiences.

Can the workshop be tailored to our industry?

Yes. Construction, trades and manufacturing get sector-specific health risk framing; financial services and law firms get senior-leadership and partner-cohort context; healthcare and public sector get appropriate sector framing. Sector tailoring typically adds 2-3 days to lead time.

Do you deliver to international teams?

Yes. Virtual delivery works across North America, Europe, the Middle East and APAC. Some UK-specific stats are referenced but the underlying physiology and the workplace case are universal.

What does it cost?

Tailored pricing based on duration, format and whether you’re booking standalone or as part of a programme. Multi-workshop bookings are priced more favourably. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a quote within 48 hours.
