55% of trans workers in the UK have experienced conflict at work.
This is in comparison to 29% of heterosexual, cisgender employees (Source).
In this ‘Trans 101’ awareness workshop, we seek to help you understand the fundamentals of trans awareness: How it affects individuals, what causes it and how society deals with the huge variety of different trans people. Most importantly, it covers what you can do to help and be an effective ally.
Delivered in a refreshingly frank, open and honest way, this 60 minute Trans at Work workshop will cover the following topics:
What does it mean to be Trans and why should you care about this in your workplace?
Trans terminology: Trans men / women definitions and the importance of pronouns.
The Science: Binary sex and the gender spectrum
Transitioning: Physical Vs Social Transitioning
Allyship and creating a safe and supportive environment for Trans people.
100 people in person, or unlimited virtually.
Available as a live workshop on-site at your office or virtually online.
A DEI professional with many years senior operational and programme management experience in the banking, trading, technology and energy sectors.
Following the workshop, you’ll receive a copy of the recording (if virtual) and a copy of the slides.
Date for your diaries: Transgender Awareness Week is 13-19 November 2023
Trans Awareness Week is a week to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming people, and address the issues the community faces. We advocate supporting your trans colleagues all year round, but this is a perfect opportunity to launch a Trans at Work workshop or initiative.
