1 in 5 of the working-age population are classed as disabled
Yet in 2023, the disability employment gap is 29%. In March 2023, the Government published the Transforming Support white paper with proposals aimed at helping ‘more disabled people and people with health conditions to start, stay and succeed in work.’
Our Disability at Work workshop will provide an introduction to managing disability in the workplace, equipping participants with the confidence to interact with and support their disabled colleagues.
This interactive workshop is delivered by disabled trainer and writer, who has Cerebral Palsy. In this 60 minute session, she provides you with a strong introduction to disability, with personal examples to help reinforce learning. This Disability at Work workshop will include:
- Recognising what a disability is and its legal definition
- Disability and the Equality Act: What you should know
- Reason adjustments: How to make them
- Positive language: helping you communicate confidently with disabled colleagues
- The ‘do’s and don’ts’ for interaction with disabled colleagues.
