Diabetes Awareness at Work Workshop: What you need to know:

  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Format: Live in-person UK or virtually worldwide
  • Capacity: Up to 100 in-person or unlimited virtual
  • Audience: All employee levels
  • Take-aways: Recording (virtual), slides,
  • Lead time: 2–3 weeks
  • Date for your diary: World Diabetes Day is 14 November 2026 — the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign, reaching over 1 billion people across 160+ countries.

There are currently more than five million people in the UK living with diabetes— an all-time high. Accounting for 10% of the NHS’s entire budget each year, diabetes is one of the fastest-growing epidemics of the 21st century.

For diabetics in the workplace, 1 in 4 report taking more than 3 days off in the past year, largely for appointments and exhaustion. Many employees worry about doing so — 1 in 5 had faced disciplinary action for missing work (Source). There’s clearly work to do to raise awareness and understanding of diabetes in the workplace.

This 60-minute workshop, led by a Harley Street BANT-registered nutritional therapist, raises diabetes awareness for employees, equips them with prevention strategies, and helps the wider team understand how to support colleagues affected.

What this Understanding Diabetes Workshop covers:

  • In this 60-minute diabetes workshop led by a Harley Street nutritionist, participants will learn:
  • What is diabetes and insulin resistance
  • Early signs of diabetes and the key risks
  • Preventing and lowering risk of diabetes
  • All things sugar — natural vs refined
  • How to read sugar on food labels
  • How to manage your sugar intake
  • The role of carbohydrates
  • Ways to eat to support balanced blood sugar levels
  • The role of lifestyle choices

Workplace Diabetes Workshop FAQs:

Is this workshop appropriate for employees who already have diabetes?

Yes. The workshop covers awareness, prevention and management. For employees living with diabetes, individual clinical support (their GP, diabetes nurse, our 1:1 nutrition consultations) is complementary to the group education.

Will it cover both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes?

Yes — though Type 2 prevention gets more focus since it’s the more preventable form. The workshop is mindful to be inclusive of both.

Is the workshop appropriate for World Diabetes Day?

Yes — World Diabetes Day (14 November 2026) is our peak booking moment.

Can the workshop be tailored?

Yes. We adapt for sector, team context, and any specific situations (e.g., an employee community living with diabetes).

What does it cost?

Tailored pricing based on duration, format and whether you’re booking standalone or as part of a programme. Multi-workshop bookings are priced more favourably. Book a discovery call and we’ll send a quote within 48 hours.
