Coping with Christmas: Anxiety, Isolation & Loneliness
While for many, the festive period is a time of cheery songs and celebratory parties, gifts and good wishes – for some people, it can be the most challenging time of the year. For plentiful reasons – be it a bereavement, social isolation or financial anxieties – Christmas (and particularly it’s build-up) can really test our mental health and resilience.
In this 60 minute virtual workshop delivered by a leading workplace mental health trainer, you’ll learn how to support yourself and those around you who may be struggling. This session will cover:
- Why feeling lonely suddenly becomes apparent during the festive season
- Strategies to connect better at Christmas time and help those around us feel less isolated
- Tips to avoid Christmas ‘depression’
- Common anxieties during the festive season and techniques to overcome them
- Barriers to social connection and empathetic listening to boost connection over Christmas.
Not celebrating Christmas? The title and wording of this workshop can be adapted to reflect the festive season in general, rather than specifically focusing on Christmas.
