Wellbeing Week at Work Ideas: 25 Ideas for Your Workplace Wellness Week

You are here: Home / Blog / Wellbeing Week at Work Ideas: 25 Ideas for Your Workplace Wellness Week
22nd February 2023

Last updated June 2026.

Whether you’re launching your first Wellbeing Week at Work or refreshing an annual campaign, the opportunity is huge. When done well, a workplace wellbeing week can lift morale, build connection across teams, reduce stress and signal — clearly — that wellbeing is a business priority, not a buzzword.

After delivering hundreds of wellbeing weeks, days and awareness-week activations for organisations across the UK and beyond, we’ve seen what works and what fades by Friday. Below, you’ll find 25 practical wellbeing week at work ideas — drawn from real campaigns we’ve delivered for teams at Sky, Fortnum & Mason, the Jamie Oliver Group and dozens more — plus a five-step planning framework, a sample week schedule, and answers to the questions HR and L&D teams ask us most.

Wellbeing Week vs Wellness Week — What’s the Difference?

Wellbeing Week at Work: 25 Ideas for Your Workplace Wellness Week

The terms “wellbeing week”, “wellness week” and “workplace wellness week” are often used interchangeably in UK organisations — and increasingly so as the older “wellness” framing (focused on physical health and perks) has broadened into “wellbeing” (covering mental, emotional, social and physical dimensions of life at work).

However you label it, the most effective weeks share the same DNA: a clear theme, expert-led content, varied daily experiences, and follow-through that lasts beyond the week itself. The 25 ideas below work whether you’re calling it a wellbeing week, a wellness week, or simply a week of focus on wellbeing at work.

Why Run a Wellbeing Week at Work?

A wellbeing week creates a focused window where wellbeing becomes the centre of conversation, not an add-on. Done well, it lifts engagement, builds cross-team connection, and surfaces conversations that would otherwise stay buried.

According to Mental Health Foundation and Deloitte research, poor mental health alone costs UK employers an estimated £56 billion a year in lost productivity, absenteeism and staff turnover. Workplace wellbeing weeks are one of the most measurable, repeatable interventions HR and L&D teams can run — and they pair naturally with awareness moments such as Mental Health Awareness Week, Stress Awareness Month, World Mental Health Day or World Wellbeing Week.

A great week shifts something. Five days of attention can do more for culture than five months of policy.

Tip: The strongest wellbeing weeks combine one signature workshop (e.g. Wellbeing at Work or The Mental Fitness Hour), one drop-in experience (e.g. chair massage or sound bath), one piece of movement (yoga or pilates), and one piece of conversation per day. Repeat across the five days, vary the topics, anchor with a clear daily theme.

Planning your Wellbeing Week at Work for 2026 or 2027?

Wellbeing weeks tend to anchor on the same UK calendar moments year after year. For 2026 and 2027 planning, the most common anchor points are:

  • Mental Health Awareness Week — May (mid-May annually)
  • World Wellbeing Week: 22-28 June 2027 (typically last full week of June)
  • National Work Life Week: early October
  • World Mental Health Day 10 October (anchored to October 10 each year)
  • Movember: full month of November

Most UK organisations build a Q1 or June or autumn wellbeing week around one of these. The 25 ideas above apply equally to whichever calendar moment you choose.

5 Steps to Plan Your Wellbeing Week at Work

1. Set a clear theme or goal

A great wellbeing week starts with intent. Pick a focus that genuinely reflects what your team needs right now — whether that’s burnout prevention, building team connection, supporting mental health, fuelling performance, or sustaining energy through a busy season.

Need help deciding? We can recommend a theme based on your company goals and current challenges.

2. Mix up the activities

The best wellbeing weeks balance energy, insight and connection. Use the 25 ideas above to design a varied programme — pair an expert-led workshop with a drop-in experience and a peer-led conversation each day, rather than packing every slot with content.

corporate_desk_yoga_class_stc

3. Involve your people

Survey teams beforehand. Ask managers what they’re seeing. Run a short pre-week pulse to surface what your team actually wants. The best wellbeing weeks are co-designed, not delivered to.

4. Communicate clearly and creatively

Build anticipation in the two weeks before. Use Slack, Teams, posters, calendar invites, lift wraps — wherever your team’s attention is. Make sign-ups easy. Keep it warm and human.

Bonus: We can create bespoke promo copy, images and session blurbs for your week. Get in touch.

5. Leave a legacy

A wellbeing week shouldn’t end on Friday. Plan a follow-through:

  • Send out one micro-resource a week for the next four weeks
  • Loop back with managers in week two — what’s stuck?
  • Build the most popular workshops into a year-round programme

Wellbeing Week at Work FAQs

What is a workplace wellbeing week?

A workplace wellbeing week is a dedicated five-day window where an organisation focuses content, experiences and conversations on physical, mental and social wellbeing. Typically, it pairs expert-led workshops with drop-in experiences, peer-led conversations and a clear daily theme.

How long should a wellbeing week run?

Most wellbeing weeks run for five working days, although three-day or two-week formats are increasingly popular. Generally, five days gives enough room to vary daily themes without team fatigue. Of course, the right length depends on your team’s bandwidth and the business calendar.

How much does a corporate wellbeing week cost?

Pricing depends on team size, format mix (in-person vs virtual), number of facilitators, and whether you’re booking the week as a one-off or part of a programme. Typically, a fully-managed wellbeing week for a 50-person team costs significantly less than buyers expect — get in touch for a tailored quote.

Can you plan and deliver the whole week for us?

Yes. We design and deliver wellbeing weeks end-to-end — content, facilitators, experiences, communications, follow-through. Most clients book a 20-minute planning call to scope the brief before committing.

Activities and themes

What activities work best on a workplace wellbeing week?

A mix: one signature workshop per day, one drop-in experience, one piece of movement, and one piece of conversation. The 25 ideas above are designed to mix and match across themes.

Should our wellbeing week align with an awareness week?

Often, yes. Anchoring your week to Mental Health Awareness Week, World Wellbeing Week or Stress Awareness Month gives the campaign a clear hook and supports broader engagement. However, running a self-themed week works just as well if it solves a specific problem your team is facing.

What’s the difference between a wellbeing day and a wellbeing week?

A wellbeing day is a single dedicated day — typically the visible peak of an annual moment. A wellbeing week extends that into five days, allowing deeper themes, more variety, and more chances for team members to engage. Many organisations run an annual wellbeing day plus a wellbeing week tied to an awareness moment.

Can you support hybrid and global teams?

Yes. Virtual delivery works seamlessly across time zones, and we regularly run wellbeing weeks for teams across the UK, Europe, the US and Asia. Specifically, we can deliver the same workshop in multiple time slots within 24 hours to cover global rotas.

Plan Your Wellbeing Week with Stretching the City

Whether you’re planning your first wellbeing week or refreshing your annual flagship, the most important step is the first one: shape the week around what your team actually needs. Prefer to keep things in writing? Drop us a line and we’ll get back to you within a day.
