Talk Money Week: Why Financial Wellbeing Matters at Work

You are here: Home / Blog / Talk Money Week: Why Financial Wellbeing Matters at Work
2nd October 2024

Talk Money Week is a national campaign led by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), taking place from 4–8 November 2025. It aims to break the stigma around talking about money — and encourage open, honest financial conversations.

At Stretching the City, we believe financial wellbeing is a crucial, and often overlooked, pillar of workplace wellbeing. With the cost of living crisis still top of mind, and financial anxiety affecting productivity and morale, Talk Money Week is the ideal opportunity to support your employees’ financial health.

📉 Why Talk Money Week Matters in the Workplace

The stats speak for themselves:

  • Nearly 50% of UK employees say money worries affect their performance at work
  • Financial concerns cause workers to lose an average of 6 productive workdays per year
  • Money stress is linked to anxiety, sleep issues, and poor mental health
  • 80% of employees say they would value financial education at work

That’s why Talk Money Week offers such a vital moment for employers to step up.
