👨🏻As well as the ever-popular growing a moustache for ‘Movember’, there’s so much more you can do to raise awareness and help men (and whose who identify as male) find a path to better mental health.
We’ve shared a few suggestions for marking Men’s Mental Health Month at your workplace, as well as links to some inspiring articles you may wish to share with your colleagues and connections.
Host a Curry & Chaat
Take part in Mental Health UK’s Curry & Chaat fundraiser.You and your mates can all make the same recipe, or order take away and come together over Zoom and create a safe space for men to talk. You could virtually cook along with our health food chef Ceri to make a chicken or veggie curry, after which she can leave you to it to chat amongst yourselves. 🥘 More info on our Virtual Cooking (Curry) Class.
Men Walk Talk: Peer Support in the Great Outdoors
Join a ‘Men Walk Talk’ for a walk and chat with fellow men around your local area. A fantastic grass-roots initiative set up in 2020 to help offer peer mental health support, walks mostly take place in the South of England, but there’s online Zoom meet-ups for those who can’t make a walk. Host a Men’s Mental Health Matters talk at your work
In this 60 minute session, lead by a male mental health campaigner we aim to tackle the taboo of men suffering in silence and make it our mission to get more men talking about mental health.Here’s what some of our clients have said about this session:
