Stress Management Course
x4 60 minute sessions or a half day workshop
Placing an emphasis on stress, anxiety and resilience, this course is designed to develop an individual’s life-long stress toolkit and keep mental health problems at bay. Looking at physiology, psychology, mental health and emotions, participants will be able to build a personal action plan from week 1 through to 4, and take this away as a personal change plan.
Session 1: Body and Breath: The experience of stress exists in our physical bodies, and modern science shows us the clear link between our physiology, breath and how we feel. We will explore how we can intelligently tune into our physical body and breath to break the patterns that keep us stuck in stress mode. Expect to move in this session, and expect to get quite still too.
Session 2: Rethinking your Stress Response: The way we perceive and think about stress is shown to be more harmful than the physiological wear and tear. In this session we will invite you to look at your thoughts, beliefs and values around stress, and explore the concept of changing these habitual patterns of thought.
Session 3: Great States to Counter Stress: Feeling stressed is a whole body and emotional experience, we literally get ourselves into a “right state”! To get out of our habitual stressed state, we need to know how to get into better ones – this session will let us explore some of the key emotional states that counter stress and how to implement them to great effect.
Session 4: Organisation and Habit Change: In this session we will look at stress from the level of helpful and unhelpful behaviours – the actions and habits that make up your day, week, month and year. The challenge of this session will be determining how to make helpful behaviours a habit.
How it works:
- Length: x4 60 minute sessions. Ideally weekly, but this can be flexible.
- Capacity: Up to 20 people
